Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed willingness to meet again with President Donald Trump following their contentious encounter at the White House. Zelenskyy, who initially traveled to the U.K. after the meeting, was welcomed by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer before signaling his openness to another discussion with Trump.

During the previous White House meeting, Zelenskyy frequently interrupted discussions and pushed back against U.S. diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Russia-Ukraine war. At one point, he suggested that the U.S. would “feel” the consequences of cutting aid to Ukraine, prompting a strong response from Trump. “You don’t know that. You don’t know that. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel,” Trump fired back.
The heated exchange ultimately led to the breakdown of a rare earth minerals agreement, which remained unsigned. Despite the tense interactions, Zelenskyy has now indicated he is open to returning to Washington if the discussions are productive.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian leader stated that if Trump extends an invitation for a “constructive dialogue,” he would accept.
“We deserve an equal dialogue,” Zelenskyy asserted. “If the president offers a discussion focused on real issues, serious solutions, and decisive actions, I will come.”
He continued, “I am prepared for any format of constructive relations with the U.S.”
Following the confrontation at the White House, Trump released a statement through Breitbart News, saying he believes Zelenskyy is “not ready for peace.”
“I have come to the conclusion that President Zelenskyy is not prepared to seek peace if the United States is involved, as he sees our involvement as an advantage in negotiations,” Trump stated. “I do not want an advantage—I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States in its sacred Oval Office. He is welcome to return when he is truly ready for peace.”
As previously reported by Resist the Mainstream, Zelenskyy refused to apologize for his conduct during the meeting. In an interview with Fox News, host Bret Baier questioned the Ukrainian president about whether he felt he owed Trump an apology for his behavior.
“So, I’m not hearing from you, Mr. President, that you believe you owe the president an apology?” Baier asked.
Zelenskyy responded, “No, I respect the president and the American people. I believe we should always be open and honest, and I’m not sure we did anything wrong.”
Baier noted that many Americans felt Zelenskyy had disrespected both Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
“Do you believe you did, and do you think you should apologize to President Trump?” Baier pressed.
“I am deeply grateful to the American people for all of their support,” Zelenskyy said. “You have done so much. I appreciate President Trump and the bipartisan support from Congress. Since the start of this full-scale war, you have helped us survive, and we are thankful.”
